"Society for CREATING A DIFFERENCE-(CAD)" is an NGO registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860. For the sake of brevity, the NGO is referred to as CAD. CAD's vision is to promote science education & research with a focus on underprivileged students. The target segment is students of class VIII-XII.
CAD's key work areas are as under:
- Motivating students and orienting them towards a career in science
- Providing information and resources related to various scholarships and opportunities in the area of science like NTSE, KVPY, Olympiad, IJSO, IIT JEE, NEET, AIIMS, SAT etc.
- Career guidance & assessment
Activities in the said work areas include this interactive online platform, seminars etc.
CAD conducts a comprehensive career guidance programme named CGAC. CGAC (Career Guidance & Assessment by CAD) is a 5-stage orientation-cum-motivation-cum-career guidance programme. CAD also conducts the 1st stage of CGAC — Orientation-cum-motivation Programme seminar — on a standalone basis.
CAD provides the following types of content on this portal:
- Articles related to science and other domains of knowledge (relating to new developments in science, history of various concepts/tools of science etc.)
- Motivational stories of scientists etc.
- Information related to various examinations/scholarships/fellowships (e.g. NTSE, KVPY, Olympiads, JEE Mains, IIT Advanced, NEET, AIIMS, SAT etc.)
- Study material related to various examinations/scholarships (e.g. NTSE, KVPY, Olympiads, JEE Mains, IIT Advanced, NEET, AIIMS, SAT etc.)
- Brainstorming on various topics/concepts of science and other domains of knowledge
The team behind the genesis and activities of CAD consists of professionals and academicians from top institutions like IITs (Indian Institute of Technology), DU (Delhi University) and other premier educational institutions. These professionals and academicians are engaged in various fields like education, civil services, corporate sector, academics/teaching etc. The urge to promote science, technology and education in India propelled these professionals to spare their time to create this NGO.
